Gone are the days of when Dawn was used exclusively as dish soap and white vinegar for dying Easter eggs. This cleaning combo can replace half of your store-bought cleaning products and is simple to make because it consists of only these TWO inexpensive ingredients: blue original Dawn Liquid Soap and Distilled White Vinegar. The combination cuts dirt and scum and even has disinfecting properties, too! I used an empty spray bottle and filled it with 1 part Dawn and 1 part Vinegar and shook it gently to mix. This concoction helps me tackle almost every corner of my home: |
- Bathroom: I cover the tub/shower walls, floor, fixtures and even the toilet bowl with the spray and let it sit for at least a couple minutes. For really scummy jobs, leave the cleaner on longer, then scrub with a sponge or rag. Otherwise, just rinse it off and you are left with sparkly-clean surfaces.
- All-Purpose Surface cleaner: I spray down counter tops and wipe with a rag to remove messes and dust. I also spritz the floors and follow with a damp mop. Get this, the DIY Dawn/Vinegar cleaner even works on carpets! Just spray, let it sit, then scrub or blot with a rag.
