Week 1: The bathroom
1. Start at the top of the room. Dust and clean your light fixtures first. Don’t do like I did and forget about them until after everything else is clean, then cover your clean bathroom in dust. Dur. I’ve got a Swiffer duster that makes this chore a cinch!

3. As for the bathtub, your yearly cleaning will go a lot faster if you’re already using a weekly cleaning spray like Scrub Free bathroom cleaner. I spray it in the shower once a week, let it sit for a few minutes, and then spray it down. (I told you, I’m lazy.) The only thing I do different for spring cleaning is to take the time to remove all of the bottles and sponges from the shower prior to spraying it down. Once the cleaning foam has sat for a few minutes, I take a scrub brush to the corners and the rings that were left behind by those bottles. Spray it down, and done!

5. Now, it’s time to clean your sink and surrounding area. You’ve already tossed everything you don’t need. Now, move the rest of those bottles, toothbrushes, and other junk off the countertop around the sink. Spray the countertop and sink with the same Scrub Free bathroom cleaner that you used in the shower and let it sit while you…
Nothing freshens up your home quite like a clean bathroom. I don’t clean mine anywhere near as often as I should. But when I do, it seems like the whole house smells cleaner. In my opinion, as long as your bathroom and kitchen are clean, and you don’t have food and dirty dishes laying around the rest of the house, that’s really all you need to do most of the time.
