He starts with a dry Swiffer pad, which is a must when you have cats. A broom can only do so much with cat hair that seems to be polarized against being pushed around by broom bristles. The light little hair balls just float around in the tiny eddies worked up by the broom rather than staying on the floor where you can sweep them into the dust pan.
